Optimize Six Sigma Training Curriculum The process improvement professionals at Optimize train our clients how to use the tools of waste identification and elimination inherent with Lean as well as how to use the tools of process variation identification and control of Six Sigma. More importantly, we train “why” to use the tools as well as when to use the tools. It is our intent that our clients do not fall into the trap that all problems require a Six Sigma project to solve. We understand the importance of clear and thorough problem identification (current state conditions) followed by a clear understanding of the desired results (ideal state conditions). Now, with the end in mind, select the tools that will aid the Green and Black Belts achieve the desired results. The optimize team works as an extension of the the process improvement initiatives within our clients management structure. As such we aid three different, but equally important roles: Six Sigma Champion(s), Six Sigma Black Belt(s) and the Six Sigma Green Belt(s).
Six Sigma Champion Role Champions are critical to the success of attaining the highest ROI gains as they have a bigger picture view of the strategies and direction of the company as a whole. Their role is to apply their perspective to the selection of potential Six Sigma projects and guide the Green Belts on how best to determine the potential return on investment. The Champion does not require a full understanding of the specific statistical tools used by the Green Belt, but should be able to validate cause and effect and where success should show up on the bottom line.
Six Sigma Black Belt Role Black Belts play a critical role in the organization. They have a comprehensive understanding of the tools of Six Sigma and will lead Six Sigma teams and projects. They are competent in project selection, measurement, analysis, improvement, and control methodologies. Black Belt competency is vital if the effectiveness of a Six Sigma initiative is to produce sustainable and measurable improvements within the organization.
Six Sigma Green Belt Role Green Belts play a critical role in the organization. They have a good understanding of the basic tools of Six Sigma and will usually make up a good portion of a Six Sigma team. Although not quite capable of leading a team, they are competent in project selection, measurement, basic analysis, improvement, and control methodologies. Green Belt training is an excellent way to enhance the effectiveness of a company-wide Six Sigma initiative.
